spring break
I had a great spring break. I went home to Atlantic Beach, Florida. While at home I went to the beach almost every day. The ocean was still pretty cold. Two things that came to mind concerning my development of a land ethic was the amount people drive in Jacksonville to get around, it is a common thing for people to drive an hour just to get from in town to the beach. From what we learned last week Jacksonville would be a great case study if it could cut down on how many people drive in the city. It would be great if Jacksonville had a monorail that took you from the beach to the town. This endeavor would be very costly. Another thing that concerned me when I went home was how spread out Jacksonville is. Instead of building out on the land I wish we built up more, which would allow Jacksonville to be more natural. One thing I was glad to see was how much more people recycle at home. At home all plastic went in a bin and all paper went in another bin to get pick up. I wish New Orleans was better on recycling.
