Spring Break 10'
My spring break consisted mostly of driving back in forth from my house in Kenner to where most of my friends live uptown. I drive a SUV and have to fill my tank constantly. I try to make the best of the situation by getting all my errands done in one trip, carpooling with my friends, and planning ahead when and how far I will be driving. Towards the end of the week I drove to Pensacola, I filled my tank up to the max before we left and had to put more in on the way back. The beach itself is full of nature but those who inhabit it are very synthetic. I myself even felt like a cardboard cutout, drowning in sunscreen with my face eating sunglasses. The beach was covered with hotels, chain restaurants, and cliché surf shops. I felt like even though I got to see the sand and water I couldn’t feel the nature, it was overwhelmed by the synthetic elements of tourism.
