Spring Break
My spring break this year was a little more boring than past years. This year I had to stay in town to work on the Northshore, so I spent most of my free time hanging around the city with some friends and going to Baton Rouge. As far as my interactions with the synthetic world, I spent a lot of time going back and forth over the Causeway Bridge. I also got a ticket for speeding on it b/c the combination of the calm lake scenery and the rhythm of the bridge tends to put you in a trance so you do not notice when there is a speed limit change. Also I went to City Bark a few times. I expected it to be just a large open area, but it was actually a really pleasant mix between the natural and synthetic world. It did have much open land for the dogs to run around, but it also had human and dog water fountains to make sure no one would get dehydrated in the hot weather. Also they had plastic bags and trash cans for people to clean up after their dogs. The space seemed like a great example of a commons. The people that buy permits to use this space can go as often as they want, but they are also expected to follow the rules and help preserve the area.
