Before we start on our posts for Wednesday and since our proposals were due today, I though it would be appropriate to ask you guys for some feedback.
My proposal is about what people believe to be Natural. I am interviewing ten strangers with very different occupations and backgrounds to draw my own conclusions. What I need help with is finding the participants. If you know anyone with these careers could you please comment with their phone number and where I could locate them.
- Butcher
- Environmentalist
- Yoga Instructor
- Exterminator
- Florist
- OBGYN
- Chemist
Thanks
Rita Girau
I don't know anyone who does this professionally, but I know a student who does Yoga and also teaches it. Let me know if you can't find a professional Yoga Instructor. For the chemist: why don't you ask someone from the Chemistry department at Loyola? And Tulane should have chemists, too.
ReplyDeleteYou should call up the restaurant "Cochon," as I know they have their own butchers.
ReplyDeleteAlso, Dr. Tracey Watts, a professor in the English Dept, used to own her own Yoga Studio, and I know she teaches Literature and Yoga. So definitely question her. She's in Bobet Hall.
And there's a florist on Magazine St., a block or two off of Audubon Park, before you get to Whole Foods. (I believe it's called "Audubon Flowers.")
An OB-GYN, Dr. Susan Jeanfreau, visited Loyola a couple of weeks ago for a career seminar. You could probably get her contact info from Dr. Beard of Loyola's biology department. I'm not sure what you mean by a professional environmentalist--an activist? Again, Loyola's biology or chemistry department would be a good place to start. And there's another nearby florist, NOLA-FLORA, behind the Carrolton Walgreens. It shares a building with the gift shop Nuance.
ReplyDeleteRita,
ReplyDeleteYou have a chemist in the family. You could start there.
